ABOUT HUGH

Hugh,a storyteller and filmmaker, traces his roots back to China. At 14, he embarked on an exciting journey when his family moved to Canada. Hugh's creative works have been showcased at the Vancouver International Youth Film Festival as part of the Vancouver Chinese Film Festival program, and film retrospective screenings at the Cineworks Independent Filmmaker Society. His latest 16mm analogue film, "Bound to No One," made a mark by being nominated for the Leo Award 2024 Best Student Production and selected for the 27th Vancouver Asian Film Festival and receiving screenings at the International Village Cineplex. Hugh's narrative artistry and cinematic style reflect his passion for storytelling with a blend of multi-cultural themes and his ability to explore and create a captivating visual language with unique aesthetics. Currently, Hugh works in the film industry as a PA within the DGC logbook program.
